About

Built by a parent determined to do what it takes for his children to succeed.

A short summary of why Test My Kid exists, in my own words.

I'm Jun. Father of three daughters. Husband doing my best.

From the day my first daughter was born, I was laser-focused on being ready for her. She was a month old when I picked up Untangled by Lisa Damour to get a head start on the teenage years. Yes, a month old. Better early than late.

I read Mindset to make sure I was raising my kids to embrace challenge instead of avoid it. Then:

I went through them all.

When my kids are awake and I'm home, they have my full attention. When they're asleep, I'm focused on working hard so they'll have everything they need. Once my daughters were in elementary, I optimized their after-school schedule around what I cared about most: public speaking, self-defense, logic, problem-solving.

Then one day I took them to Kumon. They went through a placement assessment. I was shocked to learn that my children were behind.

To be fair — this might have been a sales tactic. But it woke me up. Because when it came to my children's academic progress, I was flying blind.

I had no idea if they were reading or doing math at grade level. I had no idea how they stacked up against their peers. Were they falling behind? Were they ahead? Should I be worried? Did they need tutoring?

I live by a motto: what gets measured gets improved.

And I had no measurement of my children's academic progression. That's the gap.

That's why I built Test My Kid— for all of us who deeply care about our children's growth, but who are tired of flying blind. Test My Kid is your end-to-end academic dashboard for your child, so that you know their challenges, their areas for improvement, and whether they're falling behind before it impacts their future.
